The phenomeno of brothers

History does not have mercydoes not complement.

When it reveals the hidden events, in the houses and palaces of rulers over time and all over the land, it almost always detects it plunged in differences and personal ambitions which covers most forms of the relationship between great. Even parental relationships and brotherhood are among the distorted relations. Is it a phenomenon?

History confirms this and almost deals with it with sympathy because of its recurrence, east and west, and in diverse civilizations, kingdoms and nations, in the past and the present.

Yes History does not have mercy and does no complement.

But it celebrates great and pious men.

From here, we can understand and appreciate the description of Professor Yusuf Al Sherawi, former Minister of Oil and Industry, of the relationship between two brothers: His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, may God rest his soul, and His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, as being a phenomenon, because it is characterized by mutual trust and complementary understanding, harmony and amity. All these were expressed in His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Salmans words about his brother, the late Emir, that he was the twin Spirit.

In fact, I have realized this unique phenomenon in my book Khalifa bin Salman... the Man and the Establishment of the State, published in 1996, in the fourth chapter entitled "The Brothers.

The second fact is that I find myself tending to study and analyze the phenomenon of coherence and integration between the brothers: Isa and Khalifa to put it in front of history and the present and future generations. The characteristics of the phenomenon does not stop at its uniqueness, but extends to include what it has given to Bahrain and what has been achieved for the people and the State.

If we go back to the early formation of the entity of Bahrain, History will take us to the year 1783, when Ahmed Al Najeh succeeded in expelling the Persians and the opening of Bahrain, establishing the rule of Al Khalifa apart from courtesyand from a partial, historical viewpoint we will confess the presence of differences or disputes dominating at certain stages the relationship between the senior members of the ruling family: between parents and children or between brothers.

We will not blame our history, and it will not be unfair to those men, who participated in it in varying degrees, in the formation of Bahrain Naturally there are humanitarian or contradictory characteristics, and there are foreign ambitions and varying opinions All these were allying among themselves in order to influence events As we have seen in the history of Bahrain in the relationship between two brothers : Isa and Khalifa, there is no doubt that the will of God the Almighty was delivering progress and goodness for Bahrain and its people and the entire region, through this relationship that we put here for analysis and guidance. We will review insights into the tracks of the history of Bahrain and its progress to see to what extent this relationship has been the basis for this entity, which has been and will remain the focus of the world among the greedy or thankful powers.

I was drawn a lot to what Mr. Joseph Al Sherawi has written and what was published in Al Ayam Bahraini newspaper in its issue of March 14, 1999 his words brought peace to my heart as I was in the midst of my study of this phenomenon, especially since Al Sherawi has witnessed part of the rule of the late Sheikh Salman bin Hamad and also witnessed the rule of the late Sheikh Isa Bin Salman as a minister and as an assistant close to the site of decision-making ... Al Sherawi also says: This word can not be fulfilled on behalf of the late Emir without mentioning the name of his brother, friend and supporter, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, because the relationship between these two characters is considered a phenomenon that needs future analysis and study. The vessel leader has submitted the leadership his brother, giving him full confidence in the management of the country. His Highness Sheikh Khalifa received this absolute confidence with absolute honesty, loyalty and unprecedented devotions.

Al Sherawi continues his description of the relationship between the two brothers, saying: ... History will record with appreciation and reverence that this loyalty and confidence between the two brothers has remained firmly strong and has never wavered despite all the internal and external factors and the burden of responsibility of governance. Both lived sixty years of almost daily and sustained contact. The first passed away and we stand helpless, not knowing what to say to alleviate the pain of losing such a man, whom father died in his arms followed by his brother, who also dies in his arms. It is Gods fate and historys inevitable judgment, but it is not fair that any person would suffer such an ordeal of this size and this magnitude in this life.

When I had the honor of meeting His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, the Prime Minister, to ask for his permission to begin the preparation of this book and disclosing its basic idea to Hiss Highness, he said: the years we spent -His Highness Sheikh Isa and I. in the service of the homeland were not difficult years for both of us.

Serving the nation in all the years of our age and devoting oneself to it, if necessary, is not very difficult for us ... This was felt by His Highness the late Amir, and my person, but I am confident that every Bahraini share this same faith with real endless sincerity and conviction. It is a lifes journey for the sake of nation ... Highness Prince often recalled some of the memories with me, at other times I would recall my own memoirs with him with much pride. Then we thank God for helping us and the opportunity he gave us to serve this good country good and our beloved nation.

During that interview, I said to His Highness: to the great souls difficulties get smaller, and enormous obstacles become minor Here His Highness Sheikh Khalifa said: ... All right ... As long as your goal of this research is the documentation of a particular stage in the history of Bahrain, we hope that such an effort will contribute to the presentation and acknowledgement of the youth of the history of their country in order to draw lessons from it to support them in playing their role towards their country in the future. Moreover, however great the accomplishments that have been achieved, our ambitions and hopes for the future remain bigger, and our vision of this future is filled with optimism for further achievement to ensure having a solid basis capable of interacting with all the challenges and changes of life. We have faith in the youth of this nation, and I always emphasize that the youth are the real wealth and reservoir for the future because of their efficiency, awareness, positivism and ambi
tion. We are confident that the youths endeavors and hard work will be for the greater benefit of the nation, for its progress, excellence and development ... Accordingly, this book might contribute in the quest of enlightening and educating the youth on their mighty country, because the negligence of absorbing the lessons of the past is the most serious threat to the future.

The scholar must scholar start his research from those early years when His Highness Sheikh Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the governor of Bahrain (1942 - 1961) gave much to affirm this phenomenon; the phenomenon of the brothers Isa and Khalifa.

Then we must follow the subsequent years for what it bears of the circumstances and considerations that contributed to the formation of the characteristics of the brothers in such uniqueness. Then we will find ourselves in front of the political trends with its ongoing influences that know no borders and not limited to a certain stage, but it covers the whole area and the history of the past and present. We will leave it for the reader to judge how this unique phenomenon has affected Bahrain, its people and the whole region.

It is a rich biography of life full of great Bahraini memories, evidences, lessons that mingle protocol with intimacies. It is also a biography of the country, the people and the nation. We will pause at the most important and the most prominent aspects; there are a lot of questions about the roles of people who contributed to the drafting of this biography that is still present. There are provisions for history that must be clarified.

The history that we are about to read some of its scenes will take us back to dear, cheerful days happened at Beit Al Hasra: the 14th of July, 1933, the birth of His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Hamads eldest son, Isa. Then on the 24th of November 1936, when His Highness Sheikh Salman received the news of the birth of his second child, Khalifa.

Issa and Khalifa were not twins by birth but they were, as His Highness Sheikh Khalifa says: twin spirits. All this will be confirmed and supported by evidence so lets see what history has to say
